On the 4th of August 2020, the Minister of State Judith Gerlach (MdL) visited the University of Würzburg. She was received by Prof. Dr. Marc Erich Latoschik and Prof.in Dr. Carolin Wienrich. Ms. Gerlach got an overview of the current research at the chairs for Human-Computer Interaction and Human-Technology-Systems in the field of “Extended Reality”.

The presentation took place in a virtual environment, which was developed by Florian Kern (M.Sc.) and Peter Kullmann (M.Sc.) in cooperation with Prof.in Dr. Silke Grafe within the ViLeArn project. With the help of virtual reality glasses she could enter a virtual world where she was embodied by an avatar. Prof. Latoschik and Prof.in Wienrich were embodied by photorealistic avatars, which were created in the „Embodiment Labs“ under the supervision of Andrea Bartl (M.Sc.).
