Background
Interacting with the University of Würzburg’s enrollment system is a student’s first step on the path to a quality education and achieving their desired academic degree. As this can be an exciting step into a new phase of life, the enrollment process should be as simple and convenient as possible. Therefore, from the HCI’s perspective, the system should have at least a good user experience.
Goal
The aim of this project is to analyze the usability of the university’s current enrollment system. This is to be done with the help of a user study with first-year university students and high school students. To do this, the candidate must design a study by selecting suitable measurement instruments and creating a study protocol. Upon successful completion, the collected data shall be analyzed and interpreted to identify usability issues and create a list of recommendations for improving the current enrollment system.
Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of usability assessment methods
- Experience with conducting user studies
- High interest and creativity in user studies
