Flood Sim - Visualising ground erosion in agriculture

This project is already completed.

Background

Together with the “Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Digitales” and the “Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten” a project was started beginning this year 2022. The goal is to provide an AR application for farmers to improve the awareness for ground erosion due to heavy rainfall which increased over the past years. A first prototype in VR was realized which is currently tested. One of the most important aspects is how to visualise the effects of ground erosion in agriculture.
This will be the task this open topic will solve, design various ways of visualising information which can be explored in an XR prototype.

Tasks

The project will focus on the following tasks:

Acquaintance with the topic
Design and implementation of visualisation methods
Comparative study between different visualisations
Evaluation and presentation of results
The project will be organized according to the basic principles of SCRUM, an agile project management method for software development. A group of 4 to 8 students will work as a team.
