About me

Vivian Gomez is a PhD student in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Würzburg. She holds a Master’s degree in Systems and Computing Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, with a focus on immersive technologies, software engineering, and HCI. Her master’s thesis addressed requirements gathering and rapid prototyping for virtual reality training simulators in multidisciplinary teams.

She has experience in both research and industry, working on virtual and extended reality systems for training and simulation in collaboration with organizations such as Ecopetrol and COTECMAR. She has also contributed to peer-reviewed research in virtual reality and immersive systems.

Prior to her PhD, she worked as a lecturer and COLIVRI Lab coordinator at Universidad de los Andes, where she taught courses on software development and mobile application development, supervised undergraduate student projects, and contributed to XR research and outreach initiatives, including the Vivero Virtual program.

Her research focuses on Extended Reality (XR), virtual reality-based training systems, and human-computer interaction.

Vivian joined the TESDA Research Training Group in 2026.
