CAIDAS Scientific Opening
31 Oct 2025
On October 29–30, 2025, the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS) at the University of Würzburg hosted its two-day AI conference, marking the official scientific opening of the Center. The event was co-organized and supported by BAIOSPHERE and generously sponsored by the Vogel Stiftung Dr. Eckernkamp.
The conference served a dual purpose: first, to highlight the cutting-edge AI research conducted within CAIDAS, and second, to strengthen connections and collaborations among AI researchers across the region—particularly within Bavaria.
Bringing together leading experts, scholars, and students, the event—aptly titled “CAIDAS SciOp”—offered a vibrant forum for scientific exchange across a wide range of research areas. These included computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning for graphs and networks, reinforcement learning and robotics, explainable AI, medical AI/ML/CV, machine learning for business, and ML for audio and music.
Over the course of two days, participants shared insights, presented ongoing projects, and explored opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. The event not only celebrated the launch of CAIDAS as a hub for AI excellence but also reinforced Würzburg’s growing role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence research in Bavaria and beyond.
