Summer EXPO 2025 Recap

The Summer EXPO 2025 for HCI/HCS, CS and GE was a great success! A large number of visitors were able to experience up to 120 different demos and projects.
This year’s summer EXPO 2025 showcased a diverse array of projects and research that encapsulated the remarkable talent and dedication of the students. The event provided an engaging platform for students and research groups of the faculty of computer science to present their projects and interactive demos to faculty, peers, industry professionals, and honored guests. In total, there were approx. 120 exhibits and 200 visitors.
Students presented their projects. They were enrolled in

Visit from the Minister for Digital Affairs
We were delighted to welcome Bavaria’s Digital Minister Dr. Fabian Mehring.
Bavaria’s Digital Minister Dr. Fabian Mehring inaugurated the EXPO with a speech praising students for advancing technology and highlighting the university’s role in innovation. He explored projects like Embodiment of Multiple Avatars in an Avatar Fitting Room, an Acrophobia Therapy in XR, and a Light Show in XR. Dr. Mehring expressed appreciation for the Julius-Maximilians-Universität and emphasized Bavaria’s goal to lead in digital technologies, stating that digitalization improves lives and offers economic opportunities.
Best Presentation Award
Once again this year, the examination committee comprising the members of the three working groups awarded two prizes for the best presentation.
The awards went to:
Lewe Lorenzen (left) with his project: “Pussel: Designing an AI-based application to support students with reading difficulties (dyslexia)”
Christoph Jungmair (right) with his project: “Design and Development of Chat-Based AI-Agents for Reliable Document Retrieval in Technical Maintenance”
Dino Hunt
The Dino Hunt was an interactive scavenger hunt designed to encourage visitors to connect, network, and engage with the exhibitors at the EXPO. We’re excited to share that Lena Holderrieth successfully completed the challenge and was crowned the winner!
