HCI and PIIS at the ISMAR Conference in the Greater Seattle Area
The 23rd IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR) was held at the Hilton Bellevue in the Greater Seattle Area, USA, from October 21 to 25, 2024.
The HCI and PIIS groups were proud to present six papers that were accepted at this highly competitive conference.
The presenters included Christian Merz, Jinghuai Lin, Samantha Monty, Larissa Brübach, Marie Luisa Fiedler, and Andreas Halbig. Notably, Larissa Brübach’s work, “Manipulating Immersion: The Impact of Perceptual Incongruence on Perceived Plausibility in VR,” received a nomination for the Best Paper Award.
ISMAR is the premier conference for Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Virtual Reality (VR), attracting the world’s leading researchers from academia and industry.
This year’s acceptance rates highlighted the conference’s competitiveness. Of the 277 journal papers submitted, only 44 were accepted, reflecting an acceptance rate of 23%. Similarly, 31% of the 407 conference track papers were accepted.
We had an amazing time networking with XR researchers from around the world, exchanging ideas, and exploring cutting-edge innovations. We look forward to attending ISMAR 2025 in Daejeon, South Korea.
