Empathic robots, cyborgs, autonomous vehicles: Where does science fiction end and where does science start? We will discover the scientific background of the tragicomedy Robot & Frank together with Prof. Marc Latoschik during a movie evening on board of the MS Wissenschaft.

In a near future humanoid robots of substantial intelligence are a part of our everyday lives. Frank is a retired jewelry thief living at home. When he is getting older, he starts to forget things and seems to become more and more dependent on help. His children are convinced that Frank can not any longer master his live without technical help. They decide that he needs a home care robot, an idea Frank does not agree on at all. Still, the plan is realized and Frank’s daily routine becomes an interesting mess.
