Announcement

Out of more than 2,300 applications, Erik Wolf from the HCI and HTS Group was selected as one of 37 outstanding PhD students to be funded within the 2022 Meta PhD Research Fellowship program. This prestigious achievement was granted to only six participants from outside the US and once again puts the Würzburg AR/VR research into the neighbourship of elite research facilities like Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, or ETH.

Erik received the “AR/VR Future Technologies” fellowship supporting his doctoral dissertation, which investigates individual, application, and system-related factors influencing body perception of embodied avatars in AR/VR. The Meta PhD Research Fellowship program supports first-class PhD students conducting cutting-edge research in emerging computer science and engineering topics. These include AI system hardware/software co-design, blockchain and cryptoeconomics, human-computer interaction, programming languages, and AR/VR future technologies.
